Scramble
The highest and by far most impressive mountain on the eastern Andean skyline, maybe the southernmost 5000 m peak in the world! Its southeast face is nearly 2000 m high. The Climb is no easy walk up and demands scrambling. At least it is very strenuous due to nearly no paths and very steep and endless high loose rock faces. The climbing route I found Access via village El Sos- neado by Jeep-service or 4WD car to Refugio General Soler 2180 m (Meal service).I needed 2 days for ascent via Arroyo Nield valley (NE-dir.), northern cirque (bivouac at 3780 m), NW-face and upper SE-wall. Facts Climbing high 3060 m total, Time 2 days/1320 hours total, difficulties rock scramble UIAA grade II, US V, 5.2.
