Mount Ossa is the highest mountain on the Australian island of Tasmania. It is located in the Cradle Mountain and Lake Saint Clair National Park, in the north central part of the island. This is an excellent backpacking landscape, with many craggy summits rising above lush, wild slopes, and pristine lakes throughout. There is an extensive network of trails throughout the region, including a trail that connects Mount Ossa and nearby Cradle Mountain (5,069 ft.).
