Walk up
Mt. Peale is the highest peak in the LaSal Mountains in southeastern Utah. At 12,721 feet it is also the highest peak in the state outside of the Uinta Mountains. A good dirt road leads to LaSal Pass at just over 10,000 feet making the standard climb relatively short. The ascent is via a trail at first that leads to a narrow, rocky gully. Ascend this gully, which holds snow well into summer, and walk the easy ridgeline to the summit. Outstanding views.
