Major Mountain Expedition
Start from the Seythenex ski station and follow signs to Chalet d'Aulp de Seythenex and Col d'Orgeval. The Col is at 1732m and from here follow a path along a grassy ridge in a south-westerly direction for several hundred metres. The path goes between the foot of the Arcalod's eastern buttress and an outlier of the mountain. At this point, take the path which climbs immediately up the eastern face of the mountain. This is a steep climb where the use of hands is required, the going underfoot is often tricky and two easy chimneys have to be negotiated. Under the summit cliffs, the path turns left and becomes exposed. It then joins the main ridge which is followed northwards to the small summit. In winter, this route is a much more serious proposition.
