Technical Climb
Unicorn Peak is the biggest and highest of the Tatoosh Range peaks on the south flank of Mt Rainier. Located at the eastern end of this small range, Unicorn Peak can be approached from the Snow Lake Trail or can be approached from the west as part of the Tatoosh Traverse. Unicorn Peak is aptly named for the summit spire on the north side that resembles a unicorn's horn. Much of the one day climb is on snowfields or talus slopes, but the summit spire requires class 5 rock climbing.
