White Chuck Mountain is a striking solitary massif located in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. It is situated 6 miles northwest of Mount Pugh and 9 miles southeast of the town of Darrington. The rock is greenschist and blueschist and there are small glaciers on its north and east flanks. White Chuck has a lower secondary summit called Northwest Peak with elevation 6445 feet. Refer to Fred Beckey's Cascade Alpine Guide, Volume 2, for a complete accounting of the numerous established routes on White Chuck Mountain.
