This is a spectacular open summit with exceptional views of the entire surrounding area. The Appalachian Trail crosses both peaks ascending from Grafton Notch State Park where there is overnight parking. The Grafton Loop Trail, now complete, also crosses the summits but departs to the south from the east peak. There is an open-face AT lean-to about 3 miles up the AT from Grafton Notch. Whether you do a day hike up and back or do the loop, this is a great hike as long as the weather is good.
