Gavin Raubenheimer, Peak High Mountaineering from South Africa
The Standard Route is a C grade scramble route. Some parties and guided parties use a rope in some places. There are a few bolts with chains in along the harder sections. These are for belaying people who are not confident on exposed C grade scrambles. The other worth while routes are the North East Arete, 3 pitches of D grade and the South East Chimney Route graded E3. Sherman's Cave or Bell Cave are often used as a base camp. In winter there is not much water available on or near the peak.
