Telescope Peak Climbing Notes

Randy Lee from UNITED STATES writes:

On 2/8/16 it was cold enough at the peak that my water bottle froze in under half an hour after pulling it out of my pack. This is in contrast to the ~38 degree weather that Mountain-forecast projected for the day. There was enough snow and ice to need crampons / ice axe. Gusts of wind felt stronger than 20mph.

I hiked from Shorty's Well at -240 ft to the peak. Snow started around 5,000 or 6,000 feet, and was up to waist deep in drifts along the ridge near the peak, with most of the peak having ~2ft of snow.
